According to him they had everything in line. She didn't want him to be a father to her 12 year old. In fact she liked that he went out and hung out with friends, because this gave her mother-daughter time. He also was busy going to school and a full time job.
Schools over. They got married. He said the rules changed soon after. She wanted him to be a father figure, 100%. Drop everything for her daughter. No hanging out with friends. If worked needed him to stay an extra hour a day or two a week, that was horrible and he got reamed for it.
I dunno, in my opinion, you can see these kinds of things coming. Humans are great at ignoring what they don't want to see.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
I don't know,...some people can put on a pretty good act!
My ex was one of those who absolutely loved doing the things I did like camping, hiking and motorcycle riding with my friends....while we were dating!
Once we got married it was like someone came in in the night and replaced her with an exact duplicate!
Except all this one wanted to do was to sit around and watch TV.
She didn't really like ANYTHING to do with being OUTSIDE!
Her idea of roughing it was the tree limbs banging on the window of the Holiday Inn!

Single and LOVING it!
My older brother is going through his second divorce! He's 48 and she's 46. She claims she needs to be by herself so she can "Grow Up".
I'm thinking @#*% &i@$#, If you aren't grown up by now you never will be!

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
Some people are just too selfish/self centered to ever be married. I think that's what happened to my friend. Neither of them wanted to compromise for the other.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
OK, this must be "take advantage of Liz" month or something.
I'm in a wedding in September. My friend the bride to be came over yesterday, since I said I would print off her wedding invitations. No bigger, its just 65 of them, and I have a nice printer, and ink for me is a tax deduction.
Her fiance comes over, so Todd and I get along with OK, but he isn't exactly a best friend either. The two of them decide after being at our house for 2 hours they are hungry and they want to order in. Todd and I decide we'll order too, so I call in everyone's food and Todd and her fiance leave to pick it up. I didn't have any cash, so Todd picks up my check card.
They get there, the order is $41. Todd pays for all of it expecting them to give us like $20 back or something in cash.
Not only do they not pay us for their half of the order, but we don't even get a thanks for lunch out of them!
You come to MY house, use MY graphic skills and printer and ink, decide YOU are hungry and then not pay us for the food YOU wanted to order?
Todd was ticked. I told him that we should take it as a learning lesson, and the next time they want food, I'll place it as two separate orders.

Or use your graphic skills, printer and ink to make them out a nice,...
BILL!
Some people will roll over you time and again if you allow it.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
Yeah, don't you worry. Being generous with them is OVER. Good friends, lousy at picking up their half of the bill.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
That's terrible! I would have DEFINITELY bought you guys lunch since you were doing something nice for me!
(Stop doing freebies! I charge my friends like $10-20 for something simple and it seem they appreciate it more)
