Good idea Liz, I might have to go to that meeting at work early so I can use LifeStar's water and soap and brushes and get my car clean... **** I could probably even play up the gimp status and get one of the guys there to wash it for me...

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
Hi everyone! It feels like forever since I have been around here. It has been a rough few months. I went to Disney World in February with my daughter and her high school marching band. They marched in the Magic Kingdom's Main Street parade at 9pm on 2/17. It was absolutely incredible. But I got sick the last day I was there and was sick for almost a month! Six trips to the dr. and three rounds of antibiotics before I started feeling human again!! I had strep, and my asthma flared up, then I ended up with thrush from the antibiotic and steriod combo and then ended the entire thing with a nice case of tonsilitis!!
My daughter then got herself in a little trouble. Three weeks ago tonight I was driving home from work and trying to call her cell phone, which she didn't answer. I had a pair of pants I had picked up at the mall at lunchtime for her to wear to a dance that night. I needed to find out which girlfriend's house she was at so I could drop them off. After about 10 unanswered calls and one ****ed off voice mail, a MAN anserer her phone. I was like "WHO IS THIS" and he said "WHO ARE YOU" and I was like "NO YOU TELL ME YOU ANSWERED MY DAUGHTER'S CELL PHONE" and he said I am Officer Daly of the Norwood Police Department!!! OMG the first thing I thought is that she lost her cell phone yet again and someone turned it in to the police. But no her and her two girlfriends according to the officer were arrested for vandalism. Now I know that I talked to Kate at about 4:45 before I left work and now it was only like 5:20. I am think how much trouble could she get in in 30 minutes. SO now I am freaking out because this is so out of character from my daughter. She is very respectful of the law, my brother is police cheif in the next town away and his son, my nephew Matt just started in my town as a police officer that week!! So I get to the police station to find Kate and her two girlfriends sitting on the floor crying hysterically. I talk to the officer he tells me that they were observed writing on a street sign with a sharpie marker! So I get my daughter and we start to leave at the same time one of the other girls grandparents picked her up and the other girl Jamie says to me Katie didn't do anything it was me. So on the way home I had Katie show me where Jamie wrote. Well the stupid kid wrote JAMIE H was Here and KN F*#KED ME on the street sign. KN is my daughter. So I took a picture and called my brother. Later that evening Jamies grandmother called me and tells me that Jamie told them she was the only one who wrote anything. Plus the officer told me she was the only one to have a sharpie on them when the were searched. So anyway since no one admitted to writing and Jamie's grandparents didn't march her little but right back up to the station to admit to them all THREE girls were in trouble. Luckily they were never actually arrested or even cited. But all three are going to be referred to a Youth Aide Panel and will have to do some kind of community service. So as part of the Kate's punishment I took the computer away which meant I couldn't use it either!
So things are finally settling down and back to normal!! My leo is doing great, my cat greatly enjoys watching her. Sorry for the long post but it has been such a long time!!

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
thats what definately happens for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
A few months back my son was with a bunch of friends at Wal Mart, well a couple of them decided to rip stuff off. My son realized this and left them and walked out of the store. He then called me and left a message on my cell phone. Well when the kids got busted, the employees pointed my son out as having been with them. So they come outside and take my son to the back room and cuff him and stuff him!!
Well I go to get my son at walmart thinking that he was still standing outside and he was being hauled off. I got down to the ploice station and demanded to see the security tapes. The tapes show these kids stuffing **** in their pockets and shows my son shaking is head and then he turned and walked away. He then went outside and called me,, on the message it said what was going on.
They still insisted on charging him because he didnt say anything. At that point I called my lawyer,,, he ended up coming down reviewing the tapes, explaining politely to them that there is no law here that states he has to report a shoplifter if he sees it happen. The child was not involved he, clearly shook his head and walked away, then immediately phoned his mother to come anfd get him out of that situation. (luckily I saved the message on my phone) In the end the charges were dropped against my son,, my lawyer stated we might be looking into a lawsuit as they were questioning him him without my presence or my permission, illegal search and seizure of his personal belongings and the list goes on.
Moral to my story,, choose your friends wisely, is what I tell my son,, he got lucky that time and the next time he might now be so lucky. Needless to say he will have absolutely nothing to do with them,, they were also kicked off the football team.

Re: The Internet's Longest Thread
Man it was such a nice day here yesterday a friend and I went to the Zoo. I must say - I was pretty disappointed. The last time I went to the Maryland Zoo it was nice and had a lot of animals, now about half the animals are gone... It looks like they are doing some construction and whatnot but still. You go through an area and half the enclosures are empty.... But overall it was a good day even got to the point that by the time we left it was almost too hot.
