So Nicole, do you have room for your anchor? You know the one that WA law says all motorist must carry to use as an emergency brake? (playing Balderdash last night and that was one of the "Laughable Laws"...

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I will get the camera from hubby today and get that done,, it is extremely funny!
On another note I mayhave actually found a tortoise rescue to take him to this summer It will break my heart, and I will cry like a baby, but it is in California (not Stephs ) So he will be able to be outside more often in a barn and grazing on the things that are much better for him. He doesnt get a lot of outside time up here, because it is too cold,, he paces and rams the sliding glass door because he sees outside but doesnt get the fact that it is too cold for him. I imagine that he will be much happier. I just need to find a few references for this place and go from there.
Man,, I will REALLY miss him if this works out! It is amazing how attached I have gotten to him, he had definately become a member of this family.
Sometimes I question myself on if he really is better off there. Will they slave to him like I do,,,,, ughhhh. Okay I am done rambling.

That's AWESOME!!! Who are they and where are they? My mom belongs to the Turtle & Tort club of CA... she may be familiar with them. If you need help transporting, let me know... maybe we can do a relay.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
reptile rapsody rescue,, is who they are. That would be great if your mom would look into that. It wouldnt be Oscars last stop though,, they adopt them out,, that is the hard part for me,, I guess I would just have to trust her judgement. The other hard part is I will probably lose contact on what was going on with him after he was adopted. That is a tough one,, I want to know how he is,, I need to know,, just so I could sleep at night..... Oscar came from such misery at that mans house I just couldnt fathom him having to go through that again...... I might become homicidal, lol. He has come such a long way and is definately sure of himself and knows he wont be hurt here. He doesnt "cry" anymore at night and knows I wont kick him if he rams me or throws toddler fits,, like he does so often. He doesnt hide in his shell,, and has no problem stalking you if the food bowl is empty, lol
Maybe I should just buy a new house and build a huge barn,, load it with Mega rays and grow lights to grow my own grass and stuff in it for him to graze

Sounds like a plan to me! Except instead of a barn Just a large greenhouse type enclosure with special UVB emitting glass!
and of course his own Jacuzzi!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I'll check with Mom and have her ask around. Just so you know, they'll have him for quite a while... it's not as easy to find a home for a mid- to large-sized male tort.
