I agree 100%! When and if you're ready to have a child, love is what you need. A stable, healthy relationship is good, if possible, because raising kids can be hard and having someone to help when you need a moment to yourself is priceless -- a partner also gives you a shoulder to cry on when you need it, lol, and an ear that's always happy to hear about the joys that your little bundle brings (because it's not all hard work).
But a single family home? Nope, not at all necessary. Honestly, when it comes to teaching values and priorities, it sounds like you're more ready to raise kids than this "friend" who's already got one, lol. Besides, does he keep herps? Kids NEED herps!

You could always ask him where he went to sensitivity training.

Don't get me started on their animals. That's a whole other story...

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
All of my friends who have kids drive me insane with all of the, "I have a kid so you need to have a kid too" ****. I just tell them that I have already come to terms with the fact that I would be an unfit parent and there is no change of mind in sight. I just turned 21, I don't need that sort of responsibility...sometimes it takes all of my effort to feed my herps once a day...
(oh and new studies show that old tube TV's cost 3 times less to run than plasma and LCD tvs, amazing as that is.)
Make new friends or tell Todd you have a headache and send him to play with his friends without you.

yup, they are energy hogs. Takes lots of juice to run all those sparkling little pixels.

I beg to differ. Hockey in HD is a beautiful thing.
However, its not worth $1500 for a TV and $35 extra dollars on my cable bill!

Get out of my head! I was going to use hockey as my example!
I guess I'll paraphrase Daniel Tosh in saying I need an HD TV because I feel the lack of resolution effects my ability to solve cases on CSI.
Oh, and getting up early for work sucks. I miss being a night owl.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Hey Liz I know exactly how you feel. We tried to have kids for a long time but couldn't then finally after being married for twelve years we had one(with medical help) SHe is three now and the best thing to ever happen to me.
How we paid all the bills when my wife was off work I'll never know. Because we suck at saving cash. Any way you slice it kids are expensive. We debated having another one. But in reality when maternity leave is over we couldn't afford childcare for two children. Right now it's $30 a day for one.
THose so called friends of yours are very insensitive that's for sure. I hate people who put others in categories based on how much money they make or how much **** they have. Look at Britney Spears yeah she has money and her life's a mess. Money is the root of all evil.
