That is ridiculous,
I don't think I have ever spent over $250 on Christmas gifts and I'm buying for eight people usually. I go for useful gifts or gifts with meaning, stuff that will be treasured for years to come rather than junk that will be replaced by next years 'hot toy' in 12 months.

I agree. A woman who worked with me until October, she left for another job, is going through a rough divorce. It is hard to tell exactly what is going on because she tends to embellish a lot. Well, anyway she was telling me her soon to be ex isn't giving her any money and she has no money to buy her kids any Christmas presents. I felt really bad, because my daughter will have just about everything she asked for under the tree on Christmas morning. So I was going to go out and buy a few things to give to her kids, they are 10 and 15. The next day she calls me and asks me if I want to meet her on Friday night at a local bar to have a few drinks with her and another friend!

In my opinion if you have enough money to go out drinking with your friends you darn well have enough to get your kids a present or two to put under the tree. Needless to say I did NOT get her kids anything.

I agree with Marsha and Lacey. Most of the gifts I'm giving this year are made by me... it's not the amount of money I've spent that's important, it's the gift of time and love that went into the creation of them.

I so agree!!!! That is why I stopped giving to toys for tots and all that junk. Any person who thinks they are too good to work for Mcdonalds can sign there kids up there and they get a TON of stuff. Then they sit around and talk about how they cant find any work,,,BULL,, fast food and mini marts, etc,, if you want a job that bad they are always there! I am not too good for Mcdonalds when it comes to feeding my kids! Whatever puts the food on the table anfd pays the bills. I have nothingf but respect for these people when I see tham working there. At least they are not mooching off the system!
Dont get me wrong,, If you are disabled and such I have no issues with it. Its just when I walk into a store and watch someone have a cartful of Ho Ho's and Twinkies, crablegs and New york Steaks and whip out that food stamp card that just gets me! I get so furious!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Okay I'm going nuts and I need your guys' help to preserve my sanity...My FAVORITE jeans in the whole entire world are on their way out the door and I'm trying to find a couple of pairs of the same jeans to replace them, I know some of you shop online and I am a complete novice...I can't even find them on the Levi's website.

I'm desperately seeking a size 5 SHORT(I have a 26-27inch inseam and finding pants that fit is difficult) pair of Levis 510 or 519(tag is worn) low-rise jeans. I don't even know if they make them any more since my last ones came from a discount store.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Lacey, we just got a levi's store. I could bop over to the mall on lunch one day if you want me to look. Do you have a price range that is "too much?"

You don't have to have an ebay account to look, only if you want to bid on something
