Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Yeah it was a good day, I'm not going to miss her...I almost felt bad, but then I decided not to because she made my life very difficult...
They are treating her as a disgruntled employee, we changed all of the locks and i'm not supposed to unlock the door for her if no one is there with me.

We're not going to hire anyone else so it'll just be me and the doctor. It's going to be busy but worth it.

That sounds bad. I hope she doesn't try to come back and harass you. You never can tell with people anymore.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

She REALLY didn't like me, she'd just gotten done telling a client her 'plan' to get me fired because she was "sure" I was trying to get her job. Looks like she just couldn't take the heat....

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

I thought I would share something that happened yesterday when I ran to toys r us....... well I will just tell you from the start that my kids are very spoiled at christmas, this year I have decided to cut back a little because I feel that it was becomming a little bit ridiculous when I can walk in the store after they came out with this years new toys and They still have the majority of what is on the shelves,

So there I was going to buy this Pirates of the Caribbean huge boat that has all these cool electronics for my youngest son (99.00$) Now mind you I told them I was cutting back this year,,,which means instead of the couple grand a piece spent on them they get about a grand,, well guilt was finally getting the best of me so I was going to buy this thing amongst other stuff......
A lady and a man started to argue about money and she began to cry,,, he states we only have 50.00 dollars a piece to spend on the kids or they will not eat, and freeze the rest of the month.. From the conversation I figured she had two boys close to the same age. It really got me thinking,,,why was I in there feeling bad for my kids when they have a TON of presents,, the youngest two have over 35,, and there I was feeling like I had not got enough,, because they usually get more............RIDICULUOS! So I picked up another ship,, now I have two in my cart,, put back the rest of the stuff I had,, and paid for the two ships. I walked back into the store and gave them both to that family and walked out and went home . My son got NONE,, as he does not need them. Moral to this story,, there is always someone who has it worse than you do,,,, I guess sometimes I really need to see this kind of stuff to put it into perspective. I see a lot of it at work, but its not the same as when you see it from normal families who dont abuse their kids and are just trying to get by. Definately humbled me.......
I really have nothing to feel bad for,, my hubby wont be here for xmas as he is attending his nephews funeral,, who passed last week in a hunting accident. What a tradgedy for a 23 year old kid.
My van was almost totalled last Friday because some 17 year old kid plowed into the back of it doing 40 while I was at a stop,,, it then pushed me into a 1 ton work truck and his hitch took out the front of my poor new minivan, lol.
My kids were not hurt that bad,,amazingly enough,, and I did not get out and smack her, like I wanted too,, and another amazing thing is that Oscar was not hurt as he was in a huge kennal in the back on the way to the vet to have his all clear check. The state trooper put him into the back of his car and drove him to a vet that was close by and left him there until I could go and get him,, here is the funny part,,, Oscar blew out in the back of the troopers car I wonder if that kids insurance has to cover that too, lol. I know I am fighting with them as they say they dont have to pay the vet,, my insurance disagrees.
Again my moral to all this...... it could be a lot worse and I am definately grateful my kids and Oscar were not hurt. I definately have a lot to be grateful for...... Besides the Pontiac Grand Prix they gave me as a rental ,,that is fire engine red ( a huge ticket waiting to happen, lol)

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

Woah. A couple of grand *per kid*? I was feeling sorry for you... why?

Just kidding. I couldn't even imaging spending that much or having that much spent on me. That's a lot of money.

I think it's good that you gave away the gifts to that family. It sounded like they needed them.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

I guess I should fess up that I overcompensate for a crappy childhood that I had. It is something that I am in touch with and trying hard to work on, lol.

On another note,, it looks like I am going to have to file a lawsuit against the driver for Oscars vet bill which was a little ovet $650.00. Amazing what xrays and bloodwork and observation costs.. lol . Especailly from a vet who treats farm animals. He had a little scrape on his head,, so I bought him Teenage Mutant ninja Turtle bandaids,,,, to match his ninja turtle slippers He is obviously fine as he has not missed a meal. It was funny though when I went to pick him up he walked right over to me and rammed me,, he hates me, lol. I think he was mad because his evening meal was late All the vet techs loved him though Here is the interesting part,,, they would not treat him until they had my permission and my credit card number,, so there I am in the Emergency room with 4 kids and they have my youngest two in papooses so they cant move at all and they are screaming bloody murder and my oldest son is in a room across the hall screaming stop touching me, while my oldest daughter is crying in pain that her head is killing her in a different room,,, I explain this too the vet tech that called my cell and she said she had to have my credit card number before she could even treat him So I fumbled around my purse and grumpily gave her my number. Why do they do that??? So if he was in real dire shape would they have let him die if they couldnt get a hold of me????

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

So glad you guys are all ok Nicole! That sounds like it was a pretty serious crash.

I am in kinda the opposite but same situation as you this year... Last year 2 weeks before Christmas our apartment got broken into, and the guy actually opened up the Christmas presents I already had wrapped and even took a couple. Money was already tight, so thankfully we hadn't gotten to many things yet... During the robbery I came home from some more Christmas shopping. Amazingly none of the presents I had brought in with me we taken or broken. We moved out of that apartment that night and stayed with my parents for a few days before finding another apartment across town... Well with the moving costs, and at least some of the presents being stolen, we really didn't have time or money to get anyone much. I think I was able to find something for just about everyone, but most of it was $5 and under. So this year I was determined to make up for last year. Brett (my bf) was getting so frustrated with me cause almost every weekend I would tell him we had to go out and get more presents... He would ask what else we needed to get and I would say, well I want to get a second something for this person, and add on to this gift, ect and he kept going WHY?!?!? Now I am pretty sure I went overboard, especially for what my family expects, but I actually still spent less than $500. I just made it a point to look for sales and whatnot. I still wish that I was able to do more, but I have already put our bills on hold long enough!

Re: The Internets Longest Thread

I believe in helping others to but I also believe in them helping themselves. I work 3 jobs to make ends meet, pay bills, buy what my son needs and wants etc, so if I can do it so can many others.
