Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Liz, I'm putting together a book right now for my parents and grandparents for christmas using the free software at Self publish with free BookSmart software for Windows or Mac | Blurb
Dependant on the quality I may sell a few at the mall, the guy wants me to do a coffee table book with a couple of my friends but we are still working out the details.
I'm going to put together one from my upcoming trips to Yellowstone, Joshua Tree and Glacier, it's just a matter of taking enough pictures to make a book.
p.s. Litebrite = Super Awesome and Addicting

Absolutely! Or come down here and photograph pics for a Gil calendar.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
If I had more variety I could probably put together a good calendar, unfortunately I've only got 5 months worth of herps. Maybe i'll set out to do a 2009 calendar, collecting photos all through 2008.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
i think calendars would be a great idea for family and friends too. I think you can get them done at walmart pretty inexpensively.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Lacey, you could definitely do a calendar with your landscape shots!
You can do all sorts of novel things with them, too. Calendars are some of my favorite projects to do. (They're so easy! )

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Liz- no walmart, EVER! I black listed them from ever touching my images again. They are a notch below pet store employees and they hassle me every time, apparently no one prints professional quality images at walmart so when I try to I get the 3rd degree about where I stole them from and a lecture about copyright laws and then they wont give me my photos until I sign an agreement and talk to their supervisor. It's insulting.
QOOP--Home has alot of things you can do with photos, as does MOO.com | We love to print and www.blurb.com
I also use Walgreens on occasion, but most of my stuff is done online, it's easier than trying to explain art to a 17 year old girl making minimum wage who is only there because she has to pay her parking tickets or her parents are going to take back their car.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
You're so right about Walmart. Also, don't ever try to get any family photos printed there if you haven't got the five dollar disposable camera you bought from them with you. They won't print anything that doesn't look like it came from a point and shoot without a fight because they are afraid of copyright issues. Even photos that are so old that the photographer who took them has been dead at least 50 years aren't exempt.
Besides, their quality is HORRIBLE. You can find local printers who will get that done for you with much, much better quality.
