Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Could we at least wait until after thanksgiving to start whining about Christmas? I was at the mall yesterday and they already had the tree up.
The commercialism of Christmas is taking over the entire calendar.
The rule in this house is that no decorations go up until after the 15th of December.
That's about when I start my shopping as well.
(Oh and I totally got a sweet new 'do)

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
well if I was 19 or 20 and had no kids then I suppose I could wait until a week before xmas to do my shopping, lol. I do agree though about the whole commercialism of xmas, christmas stuff was in the stores here in the beginning of October,, thats a little ridiculous. I think though I have spoiled my kids to think they deserve everything, lol. I sent them back in to redo their lists or start filling out job applications, lol.
on another note your hair is absolutely cute!! Do you still have the skinks? I had a call asking if I had any, so let me know.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Still have the skinks, if the people seem knowledgeable then put me in touch with them...I am trying to get a reasonable adoption fee (market price since they are happy healthy ready to breed skinks)
My whole family waits to do everything until after the 15th, Christmas has always overshadowed my birthday and it is one of the few little things that makes my birthday separate from Christmas, but it gets harder and harder every year.
I think I may stop celebrating Christmas all together, I'm not religious and I hate feeling like I HAVE TO buy things for people. If I like you i'll buy you things when it strikes me, not when the happy cheery annoying ditzy girl from Old Navy tells me I have to because it is the 'spirit of the season'

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I hear ya on the whole buying something because you have too. What I hate are the xmas cards that come strolling in from people you never talk to or hear from except once a year,, then you sit there and wonder gee,, do I have to send them one in return,,,UGHHHHH..
I did pick up 10 names today though for the toys for tots thing, so now I have 10 more lists to buy for, But the funny thing is I actually enjoy buying for the needy kids,, unlike my ungrateful spoiled heathens. I think we are also going to do the Childrens Hospital thing on Christmas Eve,, bring gifts for those children who have no family up there with them. It will definately humble my kids.
As far as the skinks I have not even met this person or had a long enough conversation with him to figure out if he is a good candidate, lol. I see you dont mind them being used for breeding so I will keep that in mind. I dont breed and have never let any of mine go to anyone who indicated they want to, but then again I deal in mostly iguanas, a HUGE difference, lol. I will call him tomorrow.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
Nicole. that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. In the past, Todd and I have gone to the Ronald McDonald house and made christmas breakfast for the families there. Its usually really nice.

LOL Lace. I wait until then to. Thats when I get my xmas bonus and can afford it. Except for Garrett I buy his early, kids dont like having emptiness under the tree, lol
We actually draw names, its to expensive to buy for everyone and I dont buy for friends.

Re: The Internets Longest Thread
I mail certain special people homemade candy and just buy for immediate family. My family is too huge to buy for everyone!
