umbrella tree

thats the last thing i'm going to add to this enclosure is this umbrella tree. I had to snap off a few limbs before I could even fit the thing into the cage lol. It looks pretty good and hopefully the baby cham will find refuge in all the leaves..and dont worry, i have some bendable branches in there as well to make a formal basking spot.

i just got off the phone with lllreptile, they are sending it to me on thursday for delivery friday. cant wait!

and btw, if anyone has a chance to do business with lllreptile, please do. I called with concerns about shipping and instead of just sending me an e-mail like anyone else would do..they called me back and personally scheduled a shipping date.

Get ready Scheffileras grow like mad in environments with high humidity and light levels. That tree full gorwn would be the size of maples, sycamores, and oaks around here (3 to 5 stories tall).

That will get difficult shortly. From looking at it that thing has no branches and what you and to remove were propably just leafs. Each leaf has 5 to 9 (typically) leaflets radiating from a single point a few inches above the start of the leaf.

As for bonsai able to be kept at warm temps all year look to ficus species and perhaps citrus. I have a lime growing now which is really cool. I grew it from a seed and it is now on its third summer. The down side is citrus from seeds have dagger like thorns. If you want a small one without throns grafting a branch on young root stock is the way to go.
