reptariums and heat lamps

can I set the heat lamp directly on top of my reptarium? the box says it's made of nylon and ya'll had said before that if it's plastic then it would melt but I dont know about nylon.

Hey Adam,

I would be cautious - if it is the exo terra flexarium you speak of then they can and will burn form the heat source. I don't know if they are flammable and couldn't say if it woudl actually ignite but they certainly do discolour and eventually tear holes in

Nope Adam we answered this before.
If you put a heat lamp on that nylon mesh it will melt it!

yes merlin I know you had answered it, but I do remember the question being geared towards if the mesh was plastic or not so I was skeptical when I saw that it was 100% nylon written on the box...my mistake.

geckoguy14,

Nylon is just like plastic, it does melt .... and VERY fast!

Steve
