new chameleon

Hi,
Im new to the site and am enjoying reading all the stuff about chameleons. I have a pair of jacksons on the way. it will be my first chameleons. I am housing them individually in their own 260 gal reptarium, using pothos, hibiscus and a small palm in each cage. I have both a small hand mister and a drip system on top of the cage as well as using a 13 watt super uv coil lamp on each cage. I am also raisng crickets which im gut loading with mixed veggies, and cricket food. I will also dust them once a week with vitamin d. Can anyone think of any thing else I need to care for these guys?. or any thing else I need to be ready for?I want them to live long and prosper.

Welcome to HC. I hope you can post some pics of the little guys when you get them!

We own a Yemen's, so can't help you out specifically with the Jacksons, but advise that you research all you can about them in books and on the internet. You need to know all you can before you get them and each species has its own individual needs. Chameleons can be easily stressed and are not so forgiving to inadequate environments. You are doing well by housing them separately to start with.

Good luck and keep us updated on how you get on with them
