Acting odd

My chameleon is acting very odd today, he is on the bottom of his cage really pulling at it as if to trying get out, I have not seen him like this before, at first I thought he was going down to his food bowl, as I put his crix in there, I had to take off the jumping legs, which went through me, ewwww, as he isnt able to catch them very well, but he has ignored it and started to claw at his cage, hes hungry too I can tell, as I try to make the crix that are in the cage, from yesterday crawl near him and he gets sort of excited but they move away to quick and he loses out, so thats why today I took the legs off so they would stay in his bowl. Why would he go to the bottom clawing to try to get out? any suggestions?

Had him about 2 weeks now, it is a new setup up but he has been in it quite a few days now and he seemed to of settled fine in it, hes really active always on the move though, i very rarely see him basking.

for only 2 weeks he could still be in an adjustment mode. I wouldn't worry too much for now but do keep an eye on him. If he's not basking he might still be investigating the new setup to find the spot he feels most comfortable in.

Make sure it's not too hot. It seems to me he's over-heated.
