Haha he is playing the same trick as my Bearded Dragons Feed him the good stuff, and he won't want the less-than-the-best stuff, i.e. crickets! Have you tried him with black crickets?
Don't be worried about the drinking from a fountain,. don't believe everything you read - i once read that bearded dragons are "physically incable of drinking from a water bowl".. well, I think i've mentioned this before, but they are not, otherwise my Bearded Dragons are super-dragons!

No not yet, I think I will wait tho till I get him a better cage, this one is a pile of cr**, its doing the job for the moment, but one of the plastic bars have already melted tring to get temps just right, I am going to have to get a terry thatcher in the next couple of months, then try him with the black crix, dont want them eating their way out lol, we had to fish all the browns out they where making a racket every night, so we spent a night chasing them round his cage, what a performance lol, and he didnt even wake up with all what was going on

I have just placed a hygrometer in his viv and humidity is measuring off that, about 63, now I dont know if this is a proper reading or not, I dont really trust these dial hygrometers but its all they had at the pet shop.

Are you misting his tree so he can drink dropplets from it, if you do provide a water source in the cage make sure its very shallow, you dont want to drown him, I put some vine in his cage so he can climb all over which reaches to the bottom of his cage,, he uses his tree to climb up and down too, if you mist well you shouldnt need water bowl, i dont use a bowl just a fountain to try to help with humidity.

ya, if u check out my new thread ull see pics of my setup, well nothing is really in there, but u said u used vines right? how many did u use? they have me a 6' long fine vine, you think I can reach that all around, plus I have a pothos plant in a pot at the bottom and im threading (needle thread) the vines to the side of the mesh cage, so **** be able to get around, i dont think ill need the water bowl, the humidity in the room alone is at 53%, thats without my ficus/umbrella/pothos trees or anything. so ya well see how it goes, check out my new thread for the webpage I created with pics -Dan

I just have a little bowl type thing in my cham's cage... it has an air pump with an airstone on the end of the tubing... I've seen him drink out of it once... but, not since then... which was on Sunday...
