New Cage

We got Champs new mesh cage today, gawd what a performace, lol, we went and bought him a big ficus tree, I'm sure I read they can have ficus trees, are they ok? you can hardly see him lol, but hes exploring the tree, I think he likes it, just hope he settles in there, its been a long day sorting out his new cage, and trying to get the lighting just right, so its stressed him out some, im still not happy with it though, I have some jungle vine somewhere and guess whos misplaced it, yeah my other half, it does my head in when he moves stuff, grrrrr, its not photo genic either, the pics dont show inside the cage, just thought I would update you all on my baby.

I unzipped it to take a pic of him inside, still not that good though, I wanted a full view pic of the cage. I have had to clip the tree down slightly since this pic.

Well, SIGH, i'm not having much luck, the repti-glo spot lamp I got today blew up, so now he has no basking spot, well he does but with a repti-heat red bulb, and I couldnt return it as I got it off the internet, but I have emailed the company and told them it blew up, hopefully they will replace it, it went with a right BANG, it frightened me to death, he has his UVB tube, but I have ordered a new one with 8.0 UVB, the one I currently have is only 5% UVB, hopefully will be sorted soon, he loves his new tree,

You're not having much luck are you Donna Good luck with the bulb replacement though.. livefood are a reputable company, I should think they will replace your bulb. If not I would ring and give them what-for!! Sometimes bulbs are faulty, and they will know it is a genuine complaint.

Also great stuff for ordering a stronger UV bulb.. the mesh cages apparently block a lot of the UV emitted from the tubes, so the stronger the bulb the better. Also place it near the basking spot as he will associate heat with the source of UV and probably bask there more. He will also bask most often in the morning and early evening,. he will be basking more than you know so don't worry too much.

By the way, the cage looks great!

Hello,
Shall I suggest you do a bit of reading here: UV Lighting. The bulbs are guaranteed for 1 year and the ballast is guaranteed for 2. Replacements will not be an issue if one were to shutdown on you.

You Cham is gorgeous btw.
