Thanks Hide clyde but they have another one of these chams in the pet shop near me and he is soooo friendly always wants to climb up my arm, I think Champs just one of the grumpy ones, although they do not like handling but some will tolerate it.

I kind of wondered since I have heard of some veilded and panther chams with attitudes. I really didn't even know that they could hiss, gape, puff up or any of that stuff. I just sort of assumed they were all sort of happy little bug zappers! Just sort of fragile spirits. I'm happy that Clyde will come to me, get on my finger and kind of chill out. Not real often, but twice in the last two weeks! Then Clyde does a lot of things people tell me chams don't do, so I shouldn't be suprised. I would really love to get to a point where I could raise Rudis Chams. That, however, is really putting the cart before the horse! I still have way to much to learn before I want to deal with baby Clydes!

Champ may be a grump, but he looks great!

I think one cham is enough for me with all the other pets too, he was quite good yesterday, I thought I would try to hand feed him and it went quite well, I was really pleased, he wouldnt take it at first so I put my hand in holding a locust and he didnt show any aggression, he wouldn't take it from my hand just stared,so I rested the locust on a branch in reaching distance for him, he watched my every move but he took it, i'm hoping to move up to where he will take it from my hand, and see if we can make friends that way.

I just offered my hand a couple of times getting closer each time and watched to see if he reacted. By the end of the first week he would climb on under his own power. I have only had to pick him up twice, The rest of the time he comes on his own. I try to limit holding him, but Sunday he walked right up to the front of his cage and when I opened it up, he climbed on my finger. He kind of got comfortable and closed his eyes. I had to kind of talk him into going back to his cage. He didn't seem to want to go! If you keep at it and don't force him maybe Champ will at least get used to you and make friends. Good luck!
