Chameleon Condo?

Does anyone have one or have any opinions on it? I am looking at getting one but would like to know the pros and cons of them before I do. Thanks in advance...

I think it would be great aside from my owning a cat. Opal would most likely eat Clyde.

I take it this is something you can buy to house your cham? What exactly does it look like? It doesn't involve housing multiple chams does it?

This is what it looks like, it is an open air type thing for them to climb around on, with supposedly no way to get off.

If you do get a condo, I would love to hear about how it worked out.

As long as you can supply the proper lighting, temps, and humidity, I don't see why it couldn't work.

A nice idea but with a few drawbacks. Controling heat and humidity is a big one. Also you must be certain the room is secure and there is no way other animals(including small children) can get in or the Cham can get out. Also that there is nothing the cham can get inside, underneath, over etc.
You also may find yourself inundated with escapee crickets.

I made my own

For about $50.00 not including lights and heating bulbs. I got the pots at Home depot and the rope (for the lower section) The Electrical stuff I had and The metal I had. There are many things to consider using this type of setup, It took me quite awhile to figure it out. you have to remember that they can & will climb anything that is climbable! that means I had to re-think the top portion cause I wouldn't want them to be able to climb up to the lights & heat, so I welded pipe to wide for them to grasp to a round metal plate that the lighting is attached to. The pipe also holds the higher pot/planter. After that I used rope to go down to the very bottom. But then I had to figure out how to get the rope to the bottom but out of reach of the chameleons! Also the electrical I had to run it through the pipe, cause they would just climb it up to the lights!
It ended up being quite technical and took the most part of a day.
Another way to get the same effect is to just get a ficus tree (real or fake) and set it into a large tub that they cannot climb out of or from the tree to the edge. I used to do this and It worked perfect! And like what was said above, you have to be careful with cats, dogs & children.
