Re: Chameleon Exhibit for School??
I would go more with a bearded dragon. The will be active during the day while a leopard gecko is going to be asleep all day. The kids won't be very empressed with looking at an empty tank!
You also are going to have to consider the costs of keeping them. As you stated in your python thread, schools have limited budgets. Most diurnal lizards are going to require UVB lights and those aren't cheap!

Re: Chameleon Exhibit for School??
Is a bearded dragon such a lizard that requires a UVB lamp? Do they bite? Can they be held/taken around to other classrooms as our pythons are?

Re: Chameleon Exhibit for School??
Yes they do require UVB, yes they will bite but only if you get you finger in front of their food, lol. Yes they can be taken out and held. They are more skittish as babies but grow use to being held.

Re: Chameleon Exhibit for School??
Any animal will bite if you frighten or hurt it.
Bearded dragons are among the most sociable of lizards. Think "cat" with scales!
