I'm new to the forum so hi to all.
I have had my male yemen chameleon for over a year now. A few days ago I noticed a sort of scabbing on his veil, at first I though it was normal skin shedding but as it progressed it started to apear as though he has little pink sores., is he burnt or does he have a skin disorder?
I clean his foul every 2 days or, when I see a fresh piece.
My viv is a terry hatcher viv. It is 3x2x2, I have live plants, 2 sort of rubber plants and a hibiscus. I removed the hibiscus as I think I read somewhere that this can casue skin problems.
I have pics but I can;t load them up here as they are on my pc.

Is he to where he can get against a heat source?
Is the area dry or wet to the touch?

His heat source is a 100 watt repi lamp that is housed outside his cage. The humidity is around 40 -60 depending on the time of day. After misting his viv tyakes an hour o2 two to dry out. My house temps are 30C.
I have added pics, look in my pic folder. I have got him booked into the vets for a checkup on wednesday.

Your house stays at 30C(86F)? My wife would kill me!
Please let us know what you find out about the cham.

I have my thermostat turned up as far as it goes in the winter. To be honest my house is probably above 30c (86F). It's cold outside here in scotland, I hate the cold, and I pay the bills so I have it up.
I will post the vets diagnosis on thursday when I get back to work.
He is still eating his food and seems to be doing all his normal actions.
I removed my 100 watt bulb and put a 50 watt in last night, just incase it's a burn.

I had beastie at the vets yesterday. he has a slight skin infection, I was given an antibotic to rub on it once a day, oh he loves it!!
The vet said that he was in good condition and was a sturdy boy.

Welcome and yes what did the vet say was the cause?

The vet wasn't to sure, but as it was a minor skin problem it could have been one of the plants in his viv. I couldn't tell the vet what type they were, but from the discription I gave him, he said it could be casue of the fig type plant I have. It has been removed.
