Re: panther chameleon healthy again
Og I would go with the sphagnum. Sphagnum contains a natural fungicide and was even used at one time to bandage wounds to help keep them from getting infected. Thats why it is used in laying boxes and moist hides. Wet sponges are known to build up all sorts of bacteria.
Eimersmoo-PLEASE do not use IM or textmessage abbreviations! It is a violation of your terms of service aggreement you made to become a member.
As to reptile expos,..they are great! Lots of things you don't usually see at the petshops, some you do, and considerably better prices. And you get to meet and visit with breeders and people who are just as interested in reptiles as you are.
I just came back from one myself!

Re: panther chameleon healthy again
Well I am sorry too but you agreed to NOT use such things on this forum when you signed up. It is in your terms of service agreement.
It IS a big deal to some! That is why we have such a rule.
We are an international forum and many of our members speak (and read) english as a second or even third language.
What may seem inconsequential and obvious to you and I as native english speakers might be a big stumbling block in their translating the posts.
We work hard to keep everyone able to use and enjoy this forum.

Don't be defensive. No one is singling you out. Anyone that uses the abbreviations gets the same request not to use them.

Yup, don't take it personally. You see, this website gets translated by automatic online translators for people all over the world, and it can't figure out what to do with short-cuts like ur, r, etc...
Not to mention I find it particularly annoying to read. I guess its just a difference between your generation and mine.

Re: panther chameleon healthy again
A ten year age difference hardly constitutes a generation. I'm sorry but that sounds belittling to me.

That depends on the ages in question!
The older the ages involved, the less of a generation gap there would be. For instance I am 53 and you are 41. There would not really be that big a difference om the way we see things. As you get younger the gap widens. A 31 year old and a 21 year old could have widely differing views and if you go even younger say a 10 year old and a 20 year old,.. they might as well be from different planets!

Re: panther chameleon healthy again
I thought a generation was 15 to 20 years? I'm sorry if I offended you. I just assumed (my bad) that it was the younger crowd (ie teenagers) who used text messaging abbreviations. It wasn't meant as a belittling comment.

Re: panther chameleon healthy again
I understand your point. Still, 10 Years doesn't make a generation in any court. A 32 year old is more like an older sister to a 22 year old. We can talk about differences in maturity, but "A Generation" is a pretty well defined term in everyday english. You're 53, But that doesn't make you a generation ahead of me.
The most commonly accepted definition of "A generation" in this context is that you have to be old enough to be the Mother or Father of the person you're talking about.
But, Anyway...
