I was just curious...is it better to use live or fake plants? Whats better for the cham...Also after this experience...and everything I learned would I be able to raise one! They are cool...And also he has been chilling on my house plant all day...is that okay...Because he seems stressed out in the tank but in the plant he is just fine!

Hello,

Live plants are better. They are, well, real and also add to the humidity. The reason he is stressed in the tank is because he is enclosed. He feels trapped, and no matter what you do, will always feel trapped. He may also be able to see his reflection, which will certainly stress him out.

The all screen enclosures allow them to feel "free". They don't see the reflections and can see out clear enough that they feel as if they are not contained. if you hang a live plant in the all screen enclosure, he will use it all the time just like he is using your houseplant.

My boyfriend is wanting to build an enclouser 2'x2'x3' I told him I think is should be more like 3'x3'x4' or larger...it is a graceful chameleon. And the tank we are looking at getting is at the link below...
REPTILE,SNAKE,CHAMELEON-GREAT SET-UP TANK-NOT FISH
And there is a plant...my boyfriend is scared to use a live because he doesn't think it will help an you will have to clean th soil and such and I said no because the fecal will help the soil and the water will keep it alive and allow more oxygen to be within the enclouser!

The guy set it up just for a cham and he used it for over eight years. And is only a enclousure until we can build the screen one. But how big should the screen one be. My boyfriend wants to do 2'x2'x4' and I say it needs to be more then that.

You need to do some research before you build to see how big they get, do they like to climb, what are their requirements etc
