A few weeks ago my wife (Michelle) and I took in a jungle carpet python male.

We will take in unwanted reptiles and give them a new home or if they were abandoned we will get them healthy and feeding right before finding them a good reptile home.

His name is Mean Gene and he came with his home which was a vision cage. He likes his home a lot seeing he is always perched up on the upper lip of the doorway just chilling out there.

My wife has not worked with him yet and we were told he has a mild temperament. I think she may be considering finding a female and breeding mean gene to the new female.

He is a good eater on f/t rats and has just gone through a shed.





Had to take this shot. Mean Gene fell off his top hide spot (the inner lip of the door) and probably thought I pushed him off. As soon as I took this photo and closed the door he struck at the glass.

So much for a mild temperament. You think his name is indicative to something....hmmmm!

Are you sure that it is a Jungle Carpet? To me it looks more like a Coastal Carpet. I am just making a guess here. I am bad at IDing animals through pictures Good luck with him! My wife and I took in a 10 foot Coastal Carpet that has the nastiest temperament I have ever seen in a snake.

nice looking snake I want one now, but I can only find ball pythons any ideas where to look.. I was also thinking about a blood python but hear they bite alot
