My new Career

Hi Everyone....

I've been at my new job as a vet tech now for 17 months....and I love it. I'm really lucky cause we have 2 vets (out of 6 in our practice) who work with the not so average vet patients....I've gotten to work with various monkeys, alligators, bald eagles, deer, bobcats, pigs, goats, and skunks ...along with all the other regular and exotics pets.

And this past week my daughter started working there too....she's a natural and was soo trilled that she grew up in our house, cause she knew so much when she started that she was instantly a functional member of the staff.

I've been soo busy with trying to balance work and caring for my critters that it doesnt' leave much time to hang out with you guys...I really miss coming here and chatting with everyone. I think I've finally got things worked out, so hopefully I'll be around more often.

Its a cool job isnt it? Unfortunatly the clinic I work at sees few exotics but it sounds like you have your hands full with them.

Did you get a vet tech diploma or is this just a job/career for you?

That sounds like a great job. The vet I take my bunny to has a huge staff. Sometimes the tech seem afraid of my bunny. He usually comes out looking a little ruffled, lol They must wrap him up in something to control him, he kicks like crazy, and hates to be held. I am sure you run into that kind of thing all of the time.
