How to Get Through a Good Shed?

My burm always has alot of trouble shedding his skin. I always make sure the humidity is right and he's the only one out of my other two who sheds in pieces. Are there any tricks or anything I can help him with ?
thanks
Nick

Re: How to Get Through a Good Shed?

I would recommend to up the humididy around shed time, and throughout his shed mist him with hot water. If you dont mist him already on occasian I would reccomend that seeing my 5 snakes shed in one peice. Also make sure he has a place to soak alot of people with larger snakes don`t provide that.

Do not mist with hot water, snakes are more sensitive than we are...I would recommend warm water.

Re: How to Get Through a Good Shed?

depending on how big the burm is you could use a pillow case with damp towels inside. as the snake moves around the damp towels help to loosen up the skin.

if he's somewhat on the larger side and you are able to handle you, you could also let him soak in the bathtub for a little while. just make sure you keep an eye on him and disinfect the tub after he's out of it.

those are the only two things I can think of. hopefully others with experience in larger snakes and bad sheds can help out. good luck

That is true IF you are spraying into the air and letting the mist drift down onto the animal. If you are spraying the water directly on to the snake it is still hot.
Our body temperature is 98 degrees, so water that feels hot to us is going to be well over 105 degrees.
