Orthodontic Treatment: Phase One
I have mentioned in a previous entry that I was soon to get braces and some of my teeth pulled, I know have had the teeth pulled. The oral surgeon called me last Friday saying they had a cancellation and could get me in a week earlier than scheduled. I called my boss and informed of what was about to happen and went on my way calling my husband to let him know he needs to come pick me up.
I get to the office and they definately didn't waste any time. I went back, sat down, doctor came in and gave me an IV, and the next thing I know my husband is walking me to the car. At this point there is no pain due to the lack of feeling in my face. I had eight teeth removed including all four wisdom teeth.
I get home and head directly for bed. I slept for about three hours and then woke up feeling surprisingly quite well. I still had no feeling in my face hardly at all, but there was no pain. I decided to just be lazy and watch TV, get online, and take advantage of my time off. Day one went really well.
Day two: Numbness has worn off and I feel BAD! Everything was just so sore and the only bright side was chocolate ice cream. My husband was definately the reason I didn't feel absolutely miserable. He basically did everything for me and I stayed in bed. We watched the Game Show Network all day and I had a pretty easy going day.
Day Three was about the same as day two except I had to get out of the house and go to church. After I was finally out of the house I didn't want to go back home, so I had to have a chai tea and did a little bit of shopping. At this point there is discomfort and still eating very soft foods but all-in-all the experience was not near as bad as I was expecting.
Day four(today) I am back to work and still just have soreness, more annoying than anything else. I am also fighting to stay awake on all of these medications they have me on still while I am working. So, phase one of my orthodontic treatment is COMPLETE!
