I don't like comcast

We briefly switched to Comcast and Vonage for cable internet and phone service respectively. Vonage seems okay so far, but Comcast is AWFUL.
From the beginning it was, at best, unreliable. It randomly shuts off a intervals, and gets more difficult to reconnect each time. It's fast, yes, until it decides it no longer wants to be, then it slows down to a crawl.
The weirdest thing is what just started happening the other day. We can get to common sites like google or yahoo or such. We can get to sites to play games, or certain government sites (my mother does substitute teaching, and uses it to check for available jobs), but we have to path them carefully. If we, say, just type the address in the bar, no go. But if we start from the school's site, then try to go to other sites, it lets us. Meanwhile, email checking is difficult.
Sigh. We're switching back to Verizon. As bad as the company is to deal with, their service is much more reliable.
On a good note, yesterday the storms caused us to lose power for most of the night. This morning comcast had reset itself and everything was running smoothly. Should last for oh two or three hours.
