Yet more bad news

My brother's been in the hospital with kidney failure since Thursday night.
It started out as a pain in his chest that we were afraid was a heart thing. Of course we were quickly told it wasn't, but it wasn't until almost a week later after the pain moved from his chest to his lower back that they figured out it was his kidneys.
I'm at work now, but I spent the weekend in the hospital with him. I'm exhausted - especially since the hospital he's at is more than 2 hours away at the moment.
It's not total kidney failure - not to the point where he's going to lose one. At least that's what they're telling us so far. They don't really know what's going on because he's in a tremendous amount of pain he shouldn't be in, and they don't know what's causing it. At best, it's probably some kind of infection that's affecting the kidneys. At worst... I don't know, actually. An auto immune deficiency disease? They haven't really told us much of anything.
Understandably, it's hard for me to concentrate right now. Mostly I want to go back to the hospital so that I can keep an eye on him.
