I'm the kind of person who has a great moment in the morning, then the rest of the day spirals out of control into oblivion.

Yesterday I head off to the farmers market in search of some flowers. Whammo! The most beautiful hanging baskets, which at a fancy garden store would be at least $25 were only $15. I take two and some other annuals to brighten up the yard. I have a delicious cup of coffee and pick up fresh local strawberries and a pan of cinnamon rolls. Delish!

So, my husband belongs to a Subaru club and we all meet at the local performance shop. They just hired a new mechanic.

We go in there last night and he says, "hey, someone told me you are from Buffalo, NY"

I say, "Yup"

This is our conversation:

Me: Are you from Buffalo?
Him: Yes!
Me: What part?
Him: Amherst
Me: Me too! What part of Amherst?
Him: Eggertsville
Me: Me too! What...

It started out with lots of rain, which stunk. And it was cold.

Then the clouds cleared and the sun came out and everything was nice. I got in lots of beach time. I ate way too much. Could have slept more but oh well.

I did the math. I got Sam from the SPCA in February of 1998. He was 8 months old. This means he will be 11 years old some time in June.

I can't honestly remember a time without him. He's been my fixture for 10 years now. Sleeping on me when I'm sick, adding on the pounds because he's hungry all the time.

This also means that my little Abby girl is now 8. We got her in February 2000 and she was 12 weeks old. She's getting better. Not as skiddish as a few years ago....

It always seems, just when I say to myself "hey, my life is good. I'm in a good mood. I'm happy. Things are going right."

WHAM.

Take that, can't be too happy, now can we?

It's always a give and take isn't it? Can't get too happy, cause if you do, something will come and smack you down.
