It could have been worse - a lot worse, but it was bad enough as is.

Zoo summer camp was hectic, and this year seemed to be worse than all the other years I have worked there. Worse kids, worse parents, worse teenage volunteers, worse work drama! And somewhere in there, one of the higher ups in my department made an arbitrary (and illegal) decision not to pay overtime, even if the teachers worked overtime. If they hadn't understaffed us to begin with, nobody would need to work overtime....

I finally got another second job - working at another bookstore. This one is technically a warehouse - books are insanely cheap (Right now, everything is $2. EVERYTHING. Next week it all drops to $1.) The work is very easy (no computers involved. Only machines are a very old register, calculator, and fax machine, lol.)

I can see this becoming a serious threat to my bank accounts. Oh, and my bookshelves are already full. No room for more, but I'll find a way.

Our son is currently enjoying his last few days of a trip to Europe! He is over in Europe (Greece, Sicily & Italy) as a Student Ambassador with a group called People to People. It is 'supposed' to be a meaningful trip that gives the kids exposure to things like culture, leadership... blah, blah, blah! It's more like a touring trip with a bunch of misbehaved brats and leaders who don't know how to keep control!!!

Most of you guys know how paranoid I am. Tomorrow and the next day, they are doing inspections at our apartment complex (we never get very much notice. Usually two days at best.)

They are checking the usual - fire alarms, smoke detectors, AC filters, but this time they are also trying to make sure no extra people are living here that are not on the lease (none of those) and that there are no unreported damages (well, we reported we needed a new light bulb in the fridge 2 months ago,...

I like to stand or sit at the edge of "our" pond for a few minutes each day. I have learned something new, each time;
Frogs don't care if you are standing/sitting there- move your big feet or they are going to use them as chairs.
