Cursed Exercise! OWW!

I wore the wrong shoes yesterday whilst wandering aimlessly about town for about 5 hours and now I have a blister the size of a quarter right under my big toe.
It hurts to walk on it, so what's the protocol, to pop or not to pop?
I get blisters on my hands and they just pop themselves right away since i'm usually climbing...so I don't know what to do with a persistent blister that isn't going away.

i always do a pinhole pop, drain it and bandage it up with some neosporin.

I went after it with a #15 surgical blade, it feels much better now.

Then I went rock climbing, now i'm really beat.
