Why can't people follow laws!!!

I've complained before about my neighbors and the fact that they can't keep their dogs in their own yard and out of mine. And my Husky likes to eat dogs that wander into my yard!!!
Twice I told a neighbor with a new lab puppy that is always running around loose, that if she got into my yard my dog would make mince meat out of it. I even had to reprimand the kid for letting the dog dally onto the fringe of my yard (on the leash), while my dogs are all but foaming at the mouth to get to this dog.
So, today it happened!! The brat across the street put their dog out in their yard (no fence) and then decided to go for a bike ride. What do you think their dog did?? Took after the kid and thought my growling dogs looked like they would make great playmates. Of course, a fight started and immediately the kid (being dumb and reacting first - thinking later) barged onto my property to try to retrieve his dog.
I left a message with Animal Control, and made sure my security cameras captured the incident (it did). Apparently the dog had surgery, and the kid was bit (duh! have you ever seen a dog fight???)
Dad and Mom came over to make sure my dogs were okay and to apologize. (super big surprise here!!) They did mention the kid got bit, "but he is just fine, and they know it's not our fault".
Now I'll feel like a heel if Animal Control gives them a citation, but on the other side, if they decide later to press charges I'd rather it be on record. I have the camera footage - but I just don't trust people.
Why the 'bleep' can't they just follow leash laws, no trespassing laws and listen to my warnings about keeping their poopie dogs off my property!! UGH, I hate people some days!!!

I HATE people that don't follow leash laws! I go hiking with my friend. She rehabs abused dogs. She is currently taking care of this one, who doesn't really like other dogs, but she is trying to gradually socialize. Well, we were on a hike, and this guys lab starts runnign up and she starts screaming for him to get his dog, and he yells "don't worry, my dog is nice." and she screams back, "yeah, well mine has issues with other dogs" and as she said that, her dog went NUTS. Fortunately, the other dog did back off.
The guy had the nerve to yell at US about having a mean dog on the trail. She informed him about leash laws and it was HIM that would have been at fault.Posted 05-09-2009 at 01:35 PM by schlegelbagel

Not to mention, many people are afraid of dogs and would NOT want a dog running up to them to be 'greeted' in a 'friendly dog way'. People are so self-centered!
BTW, Animal Control called back, and took the complaint to put it on record and that way if they decide to complain later, I'll have it backed up that I let the authorities know. They won't issue a citation (which is fine by me) as we both agreed that the emergency vet visit will hopefully send the message.Posted 05-09-2009 at 07:14 PM by Frognut
