Wont Eat Crickets and Another Question

UVA is provided by every bulb with a wavelength visible to human eyes. In other words, your UVB bulb is providing UVA as well.

If your Bearded Dragon does not want to eat crickets, try offering him a different source of protein. A few of my herps get tired of the same old thing every day. After a while, they will stop eating one type, as if to demand another. My Bearded Dragon gets offered pinkies, cockroaches, earthworms, and sometimes, crickets or superworms. If I give her pinkies, and she turns up her nose at them, she will usually go for a cockroach or six, lol.

The downside to freeze-dried bugs is that you do not have the advantage of knowing if they were gut loaded, which is something you can do with live insects...

I haven't a clue as to how old he is. I think he is probably around 2. I know he's over a year and I have had him for 7 months.

We soaked him for 30 minutes 2 times yesterday, nothing. My son asked if they pass gas because (he is in my sons room) every so often he would get a smell and thought he had gone but he hadn't, but it smelled like he had.

I will try the ideas of food you listed above. I know with my bearded dragon I had before we gave her baby food when she was sick but for the life of me I can't remember what kind. I know some were green beans. Was wondering about applesauce?

Applesauce binds. For humans anyways, stick to the P's - pears, peaches, plums, prunes. I don't know if all if those are okay for dragons - maybe someone else knows. Also freeze dried are dry, live prey have better moisture, especially for a constipated dragon. You can use carrots for moisture and food for crickets (they love them) and they plump up nicely (you well see orange bellied crickets).

I would stay away from apple sauce! Try the pumpkin and frequent soaks.
Also what was already mentioned, they get a lot of their water through what they eat. And fresh is best Make sure those temps are good also you want the basking spot to be between 100-110 no less.

I will upload a picture tomorrow. Running out the door right now. I just bought 3 new bulbs....bought one yesterday. He has a 10.0 UVB and a separate 5.0 UVB/with heat and a 100 Watt basking light. We are seeing if this will get his temps up. He has been bathed again but no success. I got him to eat a bit of baby food prunes. I also bought pumpkin and will try that tomorrow if prunes don't work today.

my dragons go threw phases, some weeks they won't touch mealies or wax worms, they only want there dubia. other weeks they will eat every cricket in the tank before they even look at dubia. try different feeders, gut load them if you can.

Variety is always good! All of my animals go through similar phases of feeder interest and dislikes.
