Worlds Laziest Dragon

I do believe I have the worlds laziest dragon. Savanna has found that if she just sits still her food will eventually come to her. She sleeps under the paper towels and when her lights come on she crawls out and goes straight to her basking spot, after about a hour she climbs down and finds her a spot then stares at me. Thats my cue that she wants breakfast so I dump a few dubias in and she sits and waits..... until they come within tongue distance and she swipes them up. She eats just fine and will go to her bowl of worms fairly often during the day. She has a nice fat stomach but I do believe she has gotten lazy.

Has anyone else seen this phenomenon?

Hi, if she has a "fat" stomach, she`s probably not hungry enough to go chasing them, plus she`s learned they come to her (eventuallY).. It`s not lazy, just the most intelligent thing to do, clever girl!

I find that preparing her greens and adding the feeders to bowl in front of her gets her off of her basking spot to eat. Sometimes I think she just would rather just bask then looks over and see's her bowl of greens, then jumps off her basking log and gobbles up some and then back to basking! Bask, Eat, Poop in that order is my gals usual, Hannibal will let me know when its poop time she'll go to the opposite side of the enclosure and look out at me as if to say if you want me to go in my water dish I will or you can give me a bath, your choice. If I'm not home she will soak in her water dish then get out and poop, she's so predictable!

Spike is not there yet. He comes running to the glass when he sees me at the roach container and tries to come get them. You would think I starved him watching but if you see his belly you know better.

Well I hope she does it the other way round tomorrow Michele, it`ll just serve you right for calling her predicatble.....

I tried putting her feeders in the salad bowl..... It was shortly after that, that she started "waiting" for her food. She gets up and cruses around her enclosure on and off during the day ( its 4x2.5x2.5 ) So I know shes thermo-regulating. She loves bathtime. Its just the feeding and eating, its like she doesnt want to expend any energy. Murrindindi, you maybe right because Savanna wont miss a meal, she just wont work for it.

Lucky normally just stares at me from his branch as I put his reptiworms in his bowl. It takes until I pick him up and set him next to his bowl for him to start eating. Then he'll keep his two front feet in his food bowl waiting for more worms after he's done. I do hope he isn't like this when he's older! Cause I see more veggies coming at the end of the month.

Ok, maybe Lucky is the laziest since he gets lifted and placed next to his food.

That sounds exactly like my male. He doesn't even leave his basking spot at night. Just sleeps and eats in the same position except for when he decides to run around his cage like a maniac. Then it's right back to his favorite spot for a snooze.

Aww! I have a lazy water snake, he'd rather starve than catch the fish in his tank so he waits for me to personally feed them to him using tongs. Lazy pets are so cute though!
