    Calcium with or Without D3?

I am wondering if any of you give Calcium without D3 to your Bearded Dragons?

Some give pure Calcium as their Bearded Dragon gets older .... But am wondering how will BD benefit from the pure Calcium if they dont receive natural sunlight?

My BD will be 5 months soon and so far she's on 5 feedings a week on Cal+D3 and 2 feedings a week on Vitamines.

Should it be changed, any suggestions for a BD who doesnt receive natural sunlight?

Well I give mine calcium with out d3 because they get most of there d3 from the uv rays from their bulbs. I know some people give them with d3 just in case. Whats your set up like?

36'' ReptiSun 10.0, 8'' away from ramp where she basks half day under.

If you provide UVB, you do not need D3 (and in fact, it can become harmful, if they get too much of it.)

If you do not have UVB, D3 is recommended, but since there is no way to determine exactly how much is necessary, too much or too little can cause serious problems. It is good for short term, and sometimes for recovering reptiles, but not good as a long-term substitute for adequate lighting.

What do you mean? The lighting schedule? If you have a hard time finding calcium without d3 you can usually find a couple brands that sell it in tablet form at a pharmacy. You can use one of those pill crushers to mash them up.

Hi, if you mean your supplementary D3 schedule, not needed, you have the UVB tube, just a calcium/multi vitamin.

    Ok, thanks.

I thought without the D3 was just for those reptile who can benefit from natural sunlight. I can stay away from it then .... Probably use it once a week or use it mostly at last month use of my UVB tube.

The petshops here dont sell the Calcium without D3! So I have to order.

The calcium bone they sell at the petshop for birds or turtles, can put those into powder and use as Calcium supplement for my BD?

No, you don`t need to use it once per week, or 2 weeks, or 4 weeks... If the tube is nearing the end of its time, replace it (every 6 months will be about right)!
