Beardie Advice That Ticked Me Off. True or Not True?

When i went to the Pet Store to get crickets the man who worked there asked what the crickets where for why i don't know. I said a Bearded Dragon and he said "well a dozen isn't enough if you don't feed atleast 3 dozen its going to die." i rolled my eyes and paid. I just want to know if this advice is true. Also another question can you feed grapes to Bearded Dragons?

how on earth does he know what size your dragon is, how many crickets you may already have or what not. You should feed as many as your dragon will eat in about 10 minutes, and don't forget the salad too!

grapes are an OK treat, but not a staple.

He should have asked the age of your dragon because a lot depends on the age of the dragon.

Hatchlings should be fed feeders several times a day as much as they want in 10-15 minutes. If they want more give them more, they do the majority of their growing in the first few months.

Adults will eat a lot less protein and more greens.

Hatchlings (up to 5 months of age) require mostly protein 80% protein to 20% greens, because they are growing that they do in the first months.
Juveniles (5-18 months of age require 50% protein to 50% greens. And adults (18 months and older) require 20% protein to 80% greens. So their requirements change as they age.

See I have heard that Bearded Dragons eat alot so I was confused when mine didnt. I measured her head between the eyes and shes 1/2 an inch so I feed her 1/2 inch crickets, she will eat maybe 6 or 7 and then shes done. I do three feedings a day so thats like a grand total of maybe 21 crickets a day. if I go to smaller sized crickets she will eat more. She also eats around 3 to 4 mealies a day but she wont eat small ones just the regular sized ones so I am not sure how that is measured like one regular mealie to 4 smalls? She is shedding right now so I know she is growing and on Tuesday I will find out if shes tip top shape at the vet. The thing I do is just feed her till she doesnt want anymore.
