Mister - won't eat veggies

Mister absolutely refuses to eat his veggies! I've tried a varity of things from the care sheet, but he has no interest. I have put meal worms in with his veggies and he goes to the extent of pulling the worms out of the veggies with his foot! He obviously get his vitamins from dusting. But should I be worried about this?

PS other then not eating his veggies he's one super happy Bearded Dragon

Re: Mister - won't eat veggies

I have a stubborn Bearded Dragon too, I've found that putting lots of colorful veggies or some orange colored baby food on the greens can sometimes encourage him to take a bite but for the most part I have to hand feed him a mealie then hand feed him a strip of collard greens then a mealie then a slice of bell pepper etc.

He is about a year now maybe just a bit less.

Mosh I had tried hand feeding him veggies as well, but never mealie's and veggies, so I'll give it a go.

Re: Mister - won't eat veggies

When do you feed him his crickets or mealies and when do you feed veggies?

Re: Mister - won't eat veggies

I have one of those slap chop things that dices up the greens pretty small and mine seems to like it better. try leaving that in his home all day and feed him crickets late afternoon/ early evening. if hes hungry he'll eat his greens, hopefully.

Re: Mister - won't eat veggies

Feed the veggies as usual during the day, skip the crickets for one night then try veggies again the next am. That is what I used to do to mine to get them to eat.

Re: Mister - won't eat veggies

My Bearded Dragon was a little odd in that he went after his veggies more when he was a tiny little thing than he does now as an adult! It's very tricky now, the only thing that keeps him coming is his love for carrots. Just put a few grated on top and he goes after it.

I definitely would try what a few people here have suggested though- skip the crickets/mealies for a little bit and only offer the veggies. If he's hungry he'll eat!

Re: Mister - won't eat veggies

Mine loves apples. They're colorful and nutritious and delicious! Have you tried feeding dandelion greens? They're a bit harder to find at the store but well worth it because of all the fiber they have. When fluffy's out in the yard during summertime he goes for those like it's his job.
