why is Ajaxx to aggressive

I have no idea why Ajaxx my ball is so aggressive. when i got him i would say he was about 2 1/2 feet long and now he is near 3 1/2 feet long. I got him in November and he has always been aggressive. He has never been squeezed, dropped, hit or anything.

Anyway our usual order of things is i will take him out to feed him and he will be a bit strikey as is to be expected because he is hungry. I feed him his medium rat he will eat and i will leave him be afterwards to settle down for about 10 minutes. i will then go to put him in his tank and he is nippy
I put him in his tank and usually leave him be for for the next day
After that i will take him out and he will be balled up and i set him in my lap until he relaxes and starts moving I will try and get him to move around on my hands and stuff and just out of nowhere he will strike at me. I then put him away and we try again the next day... this will go on for about a week then i just leave him alone for about a week because i get tired of always having to be at the tip top of my guard.. He hasnt aggressively tagged me, but he is always millimeters away.

I'm not sure what i should do, all i have heard is how tame and friendly they are and then he just seems to be this grumpy fart. Is this just how his temperment is going to be or is their something else i can do... Maybe i should go visit that pet psychic lol see what his beef is lol
