Merlin, they just sell white mice in different sizes, but only really tiny pinkies (too small), these fuzzy ones (which is what I fed this time and it ate) and larger ones that are grown with fur etc. but still not that big.

I can get bigger rodents but not rats or mice, in the form of guinea pigs, rabbits and some large hamsters etc. Will it adjust to those when it gets big? I know it will find the SIZE desirable, but I thought the SMELL was different and they don't recognize it?

The few owners I know who have medium sized balls just tell me they feed two mice instead of one and the balls eat both before laying around digesting?

I don't think you have to worry about it right now. I changed my BP from hopper mice to fuzzy rats and fed him 2-3 at a time before graduating to the next bigger size rat. I now feed himsmall rats: 40- 60g. He's 2years old, 80cm long and weighs about 535 grams.
It's better to offer enough food once a week or once every two weeks than little meals more often. Snakes have a very special digestive system that requires a lot of energy. Feeding too often is not healthy.
There's a trick to changing food items. You get a mouse (or whatever he's used to) and the new food (ie. hamster, rat) and you rub the mouse all over the hamster. You may have to do that for the first few feedings to get him used to it, but after the second time, offer it without "scenting"... if he takes it, he's converted. If not, try scenting again.
That's how I switched Monty from mice to rats. I'm hoping he'll stay on rats from now on.

I would keep him on the fuzzies for a couple of feedings and then go ahead and try something bigger. This time only put one mouse in at a time. There being two prey items in the box may have confused him. You will be able to get by with large mice for a couple of years and even longer if necessary. If thats all there is thatas all there is. You might try a hamster or a rabbit at that time. Guinea pigs have such massive skulls taht they might present a problem.
The simplest way I have found to switch prey items when a snake is reluctant is to feed one of the original prey animals and just as that is about to be swallowed take your tongs and lead the new prey type in behind it. once the snake has it in its mouth it will usually continue swallowing it. I changed mine from mice to rats this way and they took it without a problem.
