T-rex coconut bark as substrate

Has anyone used T-rex brand coconut bark as substrate for ball pythons? I would like to try it and can get it for relatively cheap. Also I like the color contrast of it against my snake as my current substrate makes it look a little "Camouflaged" and not as pleasing to the eye.

Is that ok to use or good? Bad?

I use aspen personaly. It brightens up the tank.

I've never tried it: but if it's recommended for snakes, give it a go and let us know how it works out for you.
As long as you feed in a separate box without substrate, it should be fine.

Anthony I have never tried it either. But like BlackJack said as long as you are feeding outside the enclosure I don't see that it could cause any harm. And I have never heard of any bad effects from it.

My little corn is on it but does not like the feel of it so I have added in some reptile moss to reduce the texture. It is defenatly safe for snakes as long as you feed outside the enclosure to prevent impaction. I would give it a try and see how your royal takes to it but have something else on stand by incase it does not like the feel of the stuff.
