Lovely snake! I think the only reason that petstore suggest sand is because you'd have to buy it so dang much and it's expensive. I don't think it has anything thing to do with the actual requirements of the animal. Cause They've said to use calci sand for almost everything at petco.
P.S. When you start your little guy on F/T or F/K, try to jiggle it just a little, I think they like the twitching movement.

they start off all cute but now mine is just a big picky pain in my butt.(lol) He just had to train me right before we got his schedules down right. He definitely tested my patience time and time again. Any how welcome nice to read from you and great pictures.

Welcome to HC Network....nice ball python....I agree with no sand, and also jiggling a frozen thawed mouse....good luck....I have adopted quite a few snakes used to live and switched to frozen thawed without a problem....Lyn
