2-4 days, just raise the humidity in his enclosure a little.
Is this his first shed for you?

Is this the first time your ball python has shed while in your care?

Shedding can take up to a couple of weeks from the beginning of the process, and also depending on how large the snake.. Now that your ball python has cloudy eyes it will probably shed in the next few days - its eyes will go clear again and then he will shed. Make sure you increase the humidity when your ball is in shed - don't have it too high, but royals should have a humidity of 50-60% all the time anyway, and require it slightly higher so that they will shed properly. You could also give your ball python a warm bath to help with the shedding process, if he doesn't shed properly. Also your water bowl really should be large enough for the snake to fit into if it wants to, however if you see your snake soaking a lot it is usually an indication that the humidity is too low.

Some snakes do become a little more aggressive or more shy when in shed,. we usually leave our snakes alone when they are shedding, as it can cause a little stress. I have noticed when we get our female oaketee corn out when she is in shed she immediately sheds if her eyes have gone clear - we try not to handle her but we sometimes need to get her out for cleaning etc.

Good luck with your first shed!

Ditto that Bitis, I usually wait 2-3 days after the shed before handling. The new scales are still delicate.

Don't fret - that's pretty common with balls. I have yet to get a clean shed from mine, but my corns do it, no problem. You might want to soak him now for an hour or so - the rest should come off quickly then.
