If he shed 2 days ago, that could have been the problem...some snakes will not eat in shed....wait a few more days and try feeding again....after a shed, he should be good and hungry....good luck...keep us posted...Lyn

Another thought. I do not know your location or the snake's ambient temp in it's enclosure. This time of the year especially, he/she could be entering a partial or full brumation. Make sure that there is fresh water available and offer a meal about every 5 to 7 days.

With BPs, especially with the recent seasonal change, it's not uncommon at all for them to go off feed this time of year. I don't know where you heard 2 feedings, but many is fine. Some go off feed for a couple of weeks, some a couple of months and some never at all. I have one that went off feed for 9 months and was fine. i have another that has been off feed for over a year and unfortunately, i am having to force feed weekly and have been doing so for several months.
Its is not at all uncommon for a BP to go off feed for long periods off time.
As long as you BP does not experience a dramatic weight loss, I would not worry at all. The important thing is that you offer it food and keep it's temp appropriate, unless you are cooling it.

Huh, I must have overlooked that part. May need to see a vet about that. That's new to me.

How big is your snake and are you sure it was his jaw popping?
During shed the scales inside the nostril can come loose and cause a popping sound as the snake breathes. The scale is basically flapping in the breeze.
