I handle my baby BP everyday except for days he eats. Then I wait 24-48 hours before I handle him again.

We don't tend to handle our snakes as much as we used to, to be honest, since we just have so many!
Our baby royals we have now will get handled perhaps 1-2 times per week, sometimes only once. I used to handled Taz, one of our adult males, every day for lengthy periods when he was young. Neither particularly affects each snake in a certain way - some will tolerate a lot of handling, others won't. Taz is happiest when he's having a cuddle with his mum Acacia, our sub -female, also gets handled once a week, sometimes more, and doesn't bother either way. Our babies are still a bit jumpy and need more handling to tame them down and get used to us, while Tigger, our other adult male, won't tolerate much handling, and prefers to just be left alone to hide in his secure place. As with all snakes it depends on the individual - Taz used to spend all his time out of his viv. At university I would allow him to have free-roam of my bed and would often go to the kitchen and come back later and he would be curled asleep under the covers ![]()

I have 2 and I only handle mine long enough to transfer them out of their enclosure for cleaning and then back in. I clean enclosures once a month. One of mine has been off feed for the past year regardless of handling and have been force feeding it. The other is ok with hanling as long as it's not withing 24 hours of feeding.
Most "experts" in most books I have read say that you shouldn't handle them more than 1 hour a week. |

Hello,
I handle Kyros around 1-2 times a week for short intervals. He doesn't mind being handled and it doesn't affect his feeding schedule at all. |

I handle Monty every evening...(except during sheds and for 3 days or so after feeding).
Usually if he's cruising his terrarium and I open the door he'll come out onto my arms. If he doesn't, I leave him alone. I only go in and get him if I really need to move him (for cleaning, etc) or if I need to do a day time photo shoot. He is a very mellow snake and usually has no problems feeding.
