One of my red tail boas has been soaking for about 5 days now, I was thinking he's just found a comfortable spot with the perfect temperature. So I'm not really worried, but then I thought, can snakes get pruney???? I mean if people soak for 15 minutes they get pruney, how long does it take for a snake???
It's summer and it's hot, wouldn't you like to go swimming. lol

What type of thermometer are you using to measure the temps. Some types are known to be considerably off!
Jay if snakes got pruney I have a cornsnake that would look like it was 105 years old!
He spends so much of his time in the waterbowl he was named Soup!

That's for sure! My digital thermometers are way more accurate than the dial type thermometers I have....one of the dial ones is so far off it's absolutely useless...the digital ones I bought were well worth the investment!

I personally don't trust the digital thermometers after I tested them by puting them side by side. They had a diffrence of about 1,5 degrees!!
Jason,if you got 60 humidity all the time,it is too dry for BPs. Ideal they should be around 70,and then vary between 60 and 90.

What kind of thermometer do you use then? When I tested my dial type thermometers, there was a difference of about 13 degrees....way too much for me to be comfortable with them. Do you use the dial kind or some other kind?
