    Re: Ball Pythons Are Dangerous?

ok so here is what i sent :

hello, i am responding to your kijiji ad for a ball python- and i would like to tell you that ball pythons are not "wild and dangerous animals", but make rather harmless, small, and tame captives. i would also like to tell you that an adult normal ball python is only worth around 150 dollars, and no more than 200. even with the equippment, it should only sell for 300 dollars maximum. i am just telling you this so that you know what to expect, and that no experienced snake keeper will buy a ball python for that much. i actually saw your ad on a reptile fourm full of experienced keepers, and they were all laughing about it. so for the pythons sake and yours, please take down this ad and sell it at a reasonable price.

Well you probably didn't need to tell him we were laughing at him, but otherwise, not bad.

Yes, yes, we absolutely are! My point was merely that that would make a defensive person more defensive (I'm not even worried about him flaming anyone or some such), not that he didn't deserve it. :b

haha... I doubt the guy will respond. But still, prices for a normal will not be that high no matter where you are. That guy is probably saying "Will only sell to an experienced keeper" trying to lure in inexperienced people that will try to fake like they are experienced. lol At the moment, I make my income buy selling antiques, custom baby room decorations, and various other items. All the time, I get contacted by people claiming they know antiques saying "I can tell from the picture that this is a replica or has been altered so it's not worth more than $30" While I have my research, personal knowledge, and paper work from knowledgeable dealers that state the worth of the piece at that moment and once it has been refinished. It's all a game that people try to play to sale things for more than their worth or buy them for less than their worth.

    Re: Ball Pythons Are Dangerous?

Yep, even better, using someone else's brand to promote yourself. For example, my store sells French apothecary style bathroom canisters, and they are a bit expensive, but they are also porcelain, and the trashcan has a porcelain paint, and the words are very nicely printed on. There is an online store (it's been shut down several times now) that sells an imitation, but it is cheaply painted and you can tell, and in their advertisement they say, "Based on a style from Pottery Barn!" They are out and out saying, "Guess who we're cheating!"

There are a lot of tricks people use to try to make a sale. :/ Sometimes out and out lies. Like a sales rep at Lane saying the quality between their sofas and a PB sofa are the same... which is funny, because ours have a lifetime frame guarantee and we retain blueprints forever to replace damaged or missing parts... yeah, the "buy off the floor" stores TOTALLY have that AND are made in America... sure, dude, you TOTALLY know what you're talking about.[/complaintsofpoorretail]
