    Sterilite Tub

    Is it ok if i just slap on a under the tank heater and thats all i need to get the right temps without the room being like 80 degrees?

    yes, But you need a thermo to regulate the heat. and make sure the top is secure.

    The heating pads really do nothing for ambient temps. But keep a close eye on the surface temps. I have one running on a thermostat an still had to put a piece of insulation between the tub an heat pad.

    I would also invest in a couple of digital thermometers. 1 for the warm side and 1 for the cooler side

    Thanks.....I'm getting one when i got the money not my parents.So it will be a long while.

    You can get them at Walmart for much cheaper than a petstore

    Exo terra Under Tank Heater seem to work better! Either way it will have to be plugged into a thermostat and you should only need one thermometer with a probe, it can be moved around.

    Here is the one I use;

    I have never used that i just plug the zoo med in and do it like that i have never used one of them and my snake are doing really good.

    The thermostats are used as a precautionary measure! You plug your Under Tank Heater into the thermostat, adjust to the basking temperature that you require and it keeps it at that temperature, no burns on snake!

    Just a quick question about using sterilite tubs, is it better to use a heat tape, wasn't sure but I thought that the Under Tank Heater should not be used on plastic?
