Jacky,. a male and female should live more happily together, however you still have to be prepared for the possibility of conflict, though you shouldn't experience this with a pair. There is always the risk of a breeder mis-sexing for example though, and if you ended up with two males you might encounter some problems.
You would also need to prepare for breeding if you housed a pair together - they might breed with each other too young, as our corns just have, and then you would end up with a pregnant BP at too young an age, and possibly eggs when you're not prepared. Breeding is a huge step to take and is a lot different from just keeping snakes.
More people should breed them yes, and it would hopefully decrease the amount produced by farm breeding

We aim to breed ours in a couple of years when the female is old enough, and we would like to get another female or two,. our female was hatched in '04, and is an excellent feeder so I can see her being breeding size before long!

Our two males are adults, although one of them we can't be sure of age - that one fasts each year for 6 months!

- if the pattern follows he should start eating again soon as it's coming up to 6 months now.
Anyway, good luck, I hope all of our advice has been of some help to you.
