Hi I am new here and I just recently got my first ball python. But there is a problem. I read how you need to give him fresh water daily, but I am in the military and because of my job I am not home for sometimes 2 days at a time. Is this okay water wise? I am worried that by leaving him alone with no fresh water for a couple of days he could get sick or maybe die? I come back in the morning and I change the water bowl first thing. Any comments on this would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Fresh water is partly relative as standing water will stale. Mainly you want to make sure that the water isn't dirty, or the snake hasn't defecated in it. As long as the water is clear changing it 2 times a week is good.

I generally change my snakes water 2-3 times per week and have not had any problems with that.

You are fine, though it is best to change it daily, a few days without will cause no harm at all. Just make sure you have a large enough water dish that it won't run out. And welcome to HC !!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your replies! That definitely eased my mind a bit! I got a regular ball, he is still a youngin though, only about 20, 22 inches long! Here is a pic!
