A Pair In a 30 Gallon?

This is what our member has to say: Ouch. The one it ate was bigger than itself! Yeah, I'm going to be looking for reviews before buying those. These snakes are really cool ...

Erm. I've saw alot at shows for 10 to 20. Heck there was an adult male for 20 one time. Males are cheap for normals. I would buy from who I knew though. At the show they were who I knew and I knew they were nice animals. Also that was when there were males out the can due to the season.

They also had bps for 5 bucks too, but they were feeders lol.

Even though money's tight I'm having second thoughts about buying as cheap as possible since it's a pretty much permanent investment. Nothing too expensive though.

That website seems like they are wild animals. The website says they are feeding on live mice. Most reliable breeders make sure that there snakes eat a couple of ft mice.

I'd buy one for cheap at a show, but not online.

At a show you can usually closely look at a snake and even hold it to see how healthy it is. Can't do that with an online mail order site. Plus there is the issue of it going threw the mail. No telling what could happen during transit (like a couple workers playing volley ball using your box with a live snake in it).

Depends on how big the breeder is. Fresh killed is faster than frozen. I'll have to ask one of my friends what they do where she works.

10's of thousands shipped every year, probably more. Not saying it isn't stressful but one would hope they don't carry on like that with the live animal shipments

Re: A Pair In a 30 Gallon?

I agree, be very careful with cheap prices and deals offered on reptiles(ball pythons). I have run across many people that have bought ball pythons that were advertised as captive bred animals that were in fact captive hatched or imported ball pythons into the States. Due to the fact that it is going to be a long lived pet it would be in your best interest to get the best genetics possible. Any breeder worth his weight would be happy to let you know the feeding habits and personality of the ball python you are going to purchase along with the parents feeding habits and personalities. All reputable Ball Python Breeders will have a feeding and health chart that they should be able to supply you with as well if you inquire about it. I hope that you are successful in your new purchases of your ball pythons.
