A week ago I saw an add on craigslist, and being the trooper I am, lol, I had to see this snake, as $40 seemed really low for a 4 ft long, 6 year old snake with reptile glass enclosure and heat pad and hide.
I consider this like most a rescue, as it's enclosure had fake grass, no overhead heat, too small a hide, and too small of a water bowl. Low humidity therefor I knew she'd have had bad shed's, and sure enough, she does.
But 1900 grams of beautiful chocolate colored ball python!! WooT

I have been looking for a female or two to add to my breeding program, but want to make sure she's healthy and happy before thinking about breeding her this year. She has some bad shed stuck to her, but otherwise I see no issues, she has bright eyes, clean mouth, strong grip and nice full figure.
All goes well she should work out beautifully, and wow is she gentle. Not hand shy at all, and loves to be held, a sweet bonus for sure!
Some daily baths should help that old shed come off next shed, all my snakes love their bath time, haha, and it does a skin good

Thats why I deemed it a rescue, lol, this guy's wife divorced him , and left state, it was her snake, he didn't know much about it's care, and obviously she didn't either, considering her enclosure and lack of good hide and lack of water(tiny bowl).
Of course at the guys house, I'd never put em down for past care, just glad I got her and she will enjoy her new enclosure, once I get it finished. She's in a temporary one now, that came with corn snake I "rescued" also, lol. Not being into corn snakes much, I passed him off to a corn snake lover, who is happy as can be to get a 4 foot corn snake for free!

Oh boy, hmmmm, welllll, (hoping the admins don't mind)

I use a very cool program called smileypad.
Smileypad allows you to save animated gifs, pictures etc.
Actually what I do is use photobucket and then transfer the ones I use most over to smileypad. Once in smileypad, all it is is drop and drag into forums, even EMAIL!! lol
The snake animation is one of over 10,000 pictures, videos, and animated gifs, lol.
Somewhere around 5000 smilies and counting, hehe.
But just having a photobucket account and using the IMG tag inserted into the post works also, I just prefer the ease of smileypad for fast access and making it super easy to insert photos and stuff into emails!

OK whose the ball python expert?
I've been told this might be whats called a black back?
I've had it suggested it might also be a black pastel?
I'm confused at this time as to exactly what I have here, besides a beautiful snake, lol. hehe
