should being about some positive results. This will be my first breeding, I have done tons of reading, and with a little luck, and some good advise, things should be fine. The pastel is a N.E.R.D line, and has bred once before successfully, before I got him, so he should have no problems I'm assuming, lol. |

Re: My Future Pairing : )
He should be fine, now that I got him off hunger strike, lol.
Have had trouble getting him to eat, tried live, tried F/T and then tried fresh kill, all to no avail. Read somewhere that some will only eat at night, and well, he must be one, because I fed late, stayed around watching to make sure he was going to prowl, and sure enough, ten minutes later, he finally took the bait : ) Silly snakes and their hunger strikes, lol. ![]() ![]() |

Re: My Future Pairing : )
I have besides reading all over different sites of all the famous breeders, like Grazianni and N.E.R.D. especially since my male is a snake from Kevin McCurleys line of lemon pastels. I also bought his book, pythons in captivity, and have read many different forums all over, of which I chose this one as seeming to be the one with alot of knowledge on Balls in particular. Getting info from people who have owned, and do own snakes, is alot like reading user comments when researching an electronics purchase. You read enough, you'll learn what all the pros do, and kind of incorporate all the good points into your own keeping/breeding.
I think I've learned more of the finer points of breeding from reading forums and asking questions ![]() |

Re: My Future Pairing : )
I'm so excited with my self today, lol.
I rescued another beautiful female ball today, and wow is she big n beautiful. A very dark chocolate coloring, and pure white belly. She weighs 1900 grams or so, my scale isn't super exact, but close within 50 or so grams, lol. I have her in an older enclosure that I rushed a bit to set up, so I'll be up late tonight making sure temps are right and all, but so far so good. Super tame, and looks/feels very healthy, I'm stoked, 6 year old 1900 gram female, with a 40 gallon reptile tank with heat tape on bottom, a bird house, lol, yes, a bird house for a hide!, haha. Craigslist comes through with flying colors....$40 bucks, WooT!! Boy do I see pastels in my future... I'll get some pics posted tomorrow, too beat tonight to do anything but smile ![]() ![]() ![]() |
